This region starts near Proserpine and continues south along the coast to Maryborough and Fraser Island, with the western boundary being the A7 inland highway. Many regional events and festivals are held throughout the year, including the Emerald 'Central Highlands Multicultural Festival' (Aug), Bundaberg 'Beerfestabull' (Oct), Mackay 'Bluewater Ecofest' (Oct) and the 'Capricorn Food and Wine Festival' at Yeppoon, just north of Rockhampton, in September. And, of course, the Mulgildie 'Bunyip and Pie Festival' in November.

Tinaberries Strawberry Farm is run by Tina and Bruce Mcpherson. Open daily from 8am to 5.30pm during the season which is from June to October. September is 'Pick your own'. Camarosa & Festival varieties. Minimal sprays and use of biological pest controls.
