This is a large and diverse region from the NSW border in the north, the Alps in the east, down to Alexandra in the south. A wide range of elevations, micro-climates, and soil types resulting in a great array of produce. There are seven designated wine regions...Alpine Valleys, Beechworth, Rutherglen, Glenrowan, King Valley, Strathbogie Ranges and Upper Goulburn Valley. Wine and food festivals include 'Tastes of Ruthergle' (March), King Valley 'Weekend Fit for a King' (June), Upper Goulburn Valley 'A Day on High' (April), Alpine Valleys 'Wine Picnic at Bright' (Jan) and King Valley 'La Dolce Vita' (Nov).
