Peacefully Perfect Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island is Australia's third largest island just 14km from the South Australian mainland, and was the first official settlement in the State. Aside from it's abundant sealife and wildlife, the island is now a food and wine destination for lovers of fresh grown local produce. The monthly 'Kangaroo Island Farmers Market' is an ideal way to sample this local produce. The island's premier gourmet event is the 'Kangaroo Island FEASTival' held over five days in April where it showcases the "people and their stories behind the food and wine produce". Kangaroo Island is home to the Ligurian bee, and as such is the world's oldest bee sanctuary.
